VOPM announces expansion of CrediGo operations in Guatemala
VOPM Group formalizes the expansion of its digital financing platform CrediGo into the Guatemalan market, serving communities without access to the traditional banking system.
Santo Domingo, March 18, 2025 — VOPM Group today announces the official expansion of CrediGo, its digital smartphone financing platform, into the Guatemalan market. The operation, which began in a pilot phase in Q3 2024, is now in full operation with a local team established in Guatemala City.
Guatemala represents a strategic market for VOPM Group. With more than 60% of the population lacking access to formal banking services and growing smartphone penetration, conditions are ideal for CrediGo's model: 100% digital financing, no credit history required, and approval in minutes.
"Every market we enter is an opportunity to prove that technology can do what traditional banking has been unwilling to do: include people." — Víctor Pacheco, Founder and CEO of VOPM Group
With this expansion, CrediGo surpasses 500,000 combined active clients between the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. VOPM Group projects continued regional expansion into other Central American and Caribbean markets over the next 18 months.
The success of the model in the Dominican Republic — where CrediGo has operated since 2019 — validates the value proposition in markets with similar characteristics. The device-as-collateral technology developed in-house by VOPM Skunkworks enables approval and disbursement in minutes, eliminating the barriers that exclude millions from the formal financial system.
